Three minutes for you: a small morning ritual

Most days begin with a reach for the phone. Messages, appointments, other people’s worries — before we’ve even arrived with ourselves.
I’d like to show you a ritual that turns exactly this around. It takes three minutes and needs nothing but you.
How it works
- Stand at the window for a moment. Before you touch the phone. Look outside — sky, tree, light. Anything.
- Take three deep breaths. As you breathe out, let your shoulders drop. Feel that you are standing.
- Ask yourself one question: What do I wish for myself today? Not for work, not for others. For you.
That’s all.
Why it works
The first thought of the day sets the tone. When it’s about you — and not the to-do list — you begin the day as the one who shapes it, not the one who is driven by it.
Three minutes don’t change a day. They change who begins it.
You won’t get a big answer every morning. Sometimes the answer is simply a cup of tea in peace. That counts too.
Keep going, don’t perfect it
Do it for seven days. Not because you have to — but to feel what changes when the day begins with you. If you like, write one sentence in the evening: What was different today?
Not perfect. Just regular.
